Armed with knowledge

As all good things must come to an end, our beloved intern, Can, has reached the final days of his internship. He really brightened up the office with his cheerful nature and never ending kindness. Even after having an accident, he still remained positive and energetic. On his departure day, he even let us decorate his bandage as a memory. We made an interview with him about his experience and knowledge that he gained here.

1. How was your experience with Extramus?

My experience at Extramus has been both rewarding and eye-opening. As a Finance and Accounting intern, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the financial workings of an organization that operates internationally. From the start, I was involved in real tasks like analyzing budgets, preparing financial reports, and even participating in financial decision-making processes. The work was challenging but highly educational, allowing me to put my academic knowledge into practice. Moreover, being in Italy added a unique dimension to my experience. I got to learn about Italian business culture and how financial operations differ from what I was familiar with. The combination of professional growth and cultural exposure made this internship a truly enriching experience.

2. What did you enjoy in working here?

There were several aspects of working at Extramus that I thoroughly enjoyed. One of the highlights was the diversity of the team. Working with colleagues from different countries and backgrounds broadened my perspective and taught me a lot about collaboration in an international setting. The tasks I was given were engaging and relevant, particularly when it came to analyzing financial data and contributing to budgeting processes. I also appreciated the chance to experience the Italian work culture, which emphasized a balance between hard work and personal connections. The mentorship I received was another standout aspect of my time at Extramus. My mentor was always willing to offer guidance and feedback, which helped me navigate the challenges I faced and improve my skills. And of course, being in Italy, I enjoyed the local lifestyle—the delicious food, the beautiful landscapes, and the warm, welcoming people all added to the richness of the experience.

3. How did this experience change your view on your goals?

This internship has had a significant impact on how I view my career goals. Before coming to Extramus, I knew I wanted to work in finance, but I wasn’t entirely sure which direction to take. My experience here has helped clarify that for me. I discovered that I have a strong interest in financial analysis and accounting, particularly within an international context. Working in Italy, I saw firsthand how financial practices and regulations can vary across borders, which has fueled my desire to pursue a career in international finance. I now have a clearer vision of my future, where I aim to work in roles that allow me to combine my financial expertise with a global perspective. This internship has also made me more confident in my ability to handle complex financial tasks and adapt to different environments.

4. What will you miss the most after leaving the internship?

There’s a lot I’ll miss about my time at Extramus. First and foremost, I’ll miss the peoplethe team I worked with was incredibly supportive and made me feel like a valued member from day one. The camaraderie we built through working together on challenging projects and even just sharing stories over coffee was something special. I’ll also miss the hands-on experience I gained from working on real financial projects. Being trusted with tasks that had a real impact on the organization was both challenging and rewarding, and I’ll miss that sense of responsibility. On a more personal note, I’ll miss living in Italy. The opportunity to explore the culture, enjoy the cuisine, and learn a bit of the language added so much to my experience. The Italian way of life, with its emphasis on enjoying the moment and valuing personal relationships, is something I’ll carry with me long after I leave. The combination of professional and cultural experiences here has been truly unforgettable, and I’ll miss every part of it. I will miss LORENZOOOOO!!
